Text adventures
ScholarshipNot a paper yet. Vetscape was a vet case in Twine. I never wrote it up. The stream version, chat as the party, is the one that could stand as a paper: live branching cases, decision-making in public, the difference between a PDF case and a room that argues.
TeachingUsed in teaching. Lennox Harlowe, click through, not a PDF. The ethics chatbot is a cousin: a messy situation, then you talk. The teaching use is already there. The live one is not in a timetable yet.
I have written branching cases more than once: a veterinary story in Twine, then a phone wrapper, then chat on a stream wandering a tiny retro world. The classroom version is the case students click through. The stream version is the same idea with an audience typing commands.
Streaming a choose-your-own-adventure with Harold Bishop is not academic. Swapping the dungeon for a clinical scene, and the chat for a cohort, might be. More of a re-skin and a writeup than a new research programme.
Already tied to
- Streaming. The overlay is a text adventure. Chat is the party.
- Classroom games. Vetscape was already a teaching case. Twine instead of a PDF.
