Interests

Some of this started as a laugh. Wrestling graphs ended up in the PhD. Streaming a choose-your-own-adventure with Harold Bishop has not, yet. I usually start with something people already care about and show it to them. This map is those interests, and some that have not gone anywhere yet.

Solid lines already exist. Dashed lines could become a paper or a class, but have not yet.

Click an interest. Filled pills have already shown up in a paper or a thesis. Outlines have not, yet.

Soaps

ScholarshipNot a paper yet. I already scraped Coronation Street and pointed a face detector at a clip. The scholarly version is the wrestling move, with soap fans: show them a picture of their own data, then let them ask how it was made.

TeachingNot on a timetable yet. Neighbours and Corrie are what people already know. A class that plays a Harold Bishop adventure, or maps who has been in Weatherfield with who, is using that the same way I used tag teams.

I had a few hours on a train and was bored of example datasets that did not interest me. Default target was Coronation Street characters. Around the same time I pointed a face detector at a clip, is it Emma or is it Steve. Later, chat on a stream started picking fights with Harold Bishop. None of that is a paper.

It is sitting in the same drawer as the wrestling graphs were in 2014. The community already cares. The methods are the ones I already use.
