ScholarshipNot a paper yet. Chat versus Harold Bishop is not a paper. It could be: a public, live, choose-your-own-adventure with a cohort typing in chat. That is a research object sitting in an OBS overlay. Same family as a Twine case, except the room is the stream.
TeachingNot on a timetable yet. A class in chat, a case on screen, decisions voted live. Or tinkering with a shared game while people watch, which is already how Happy Land gets built. Could be a class. It is not billed as one yet.
I wanted an overlay where chat becomes one adventure party, and a cookie clicker I could play with people on stream. Both of those exist. Neither is on a module descriptor.
They could probably be academic. Live decision-making, a shared world, something you can rewind. The interesting question is what you would put in the adventure: a vet case, an ethics scenario, a placement. Harold Bishop can stay. The case can change.
Already tied to
- Soaps. Chat picking fights with Harold Bishop. Neighbours walked onto the stream.
- Text adventures. The overlay is a text adventure. Chat is the party.
- Idle games. Happy Land is built to be fiddled with live, on a phone, one URL.
Could be built
- Classroom games. A class in chat, a case on screen, Harold Bishop optional.
