Happy Land

A cookie clicker multiplayer game for streaming — tap, idle, buy upgrades, chat — still early and mutating.

Mashed together

Cookie clicker, a casino, Monopoly houses, and chat, on one map you can tinker with on stream.

2026–ongoing

FrameHunt

An early click-the-picture demo for students practising named bits of the body. Timed, scored, ranked a bit like Times Tables Rock Stars. Started in 2026 with Liverpool’s Institute of Population Health; hosted as a CEDS demo while the idea is still being talked through.

Mashed together

Times Tables Rock Stars, named bits of a body, and a PHP page dressed like a skills lab.

2025–ongoing

HLS Digital Directory

A sharing database for Health and Life Sciences staff at the University of Liverpool. Mostly so people put their teaching projects in one place, find related work, and maybe stop reinventing the same thing down the corridor.

Mashed together

A staff catalogue that tries to show this teaching project is related to that one.

2023–ongoing

Clingo

Clingo is clinical bingo for health students. Instead of numbers you get phrases you might hear on placement. Scan a QR code for a card, someone at the front runs the caller, and when the card is full you shout CLINGO. ScLINGO is the same game with Scouse.

Mashed together

Bingo night, clinical phrases, Scouse, and a QR code on a phone.

Chat with Jekyll and Hyde

Clinical ethics scenarios for health students. You pick a messy situation, a bad doctor has already given terrible advice, and you talk it through with a chatbot that is meant to be the better colleague in the room.

Mashed together

Ethics cases, a pile of terrible advice, and ChatGPT as the colleague who has to unpick it.

What's my Protected Characteristic?

A classroom spinner for the Equality Act. You spin a protected characteristic, get dealt a clinical scenario and a practitioner role, then talk about what that combination actually means in the room.

Mashed together

A fairground wheel, the Equality Act, and a clinical scene you then have to talk through.

Fandom scraper and Corrie faces

I wanted structured data about Coronation Street and Fandom does not have DBpedia. Infoboxes are still in there, so I wrote a Python scraper, then later pointed a Haar cascade at a clip to see if it could tell Emma from Steve.

Mashed together

Soap-opera wikis, infoboxes, a Python crawl, and a face detector pointed at Coronation Street.

2019

Vetscape

A veterinary case as a text adventure. Lennox Harlowe was written in Twine, put into Cordova so it could run on a phone, and there is a Unity/Fungus 2D version in another repo.

Mashed together

A vet case written as a branching story, then wrapped so it can run on a phone.

2024–ongoing

Comparative Judgement

A web app for ranking work by repeatedly picking which of two things is better. A collaboration between Liverpool’s Centre for Educational Development and Support, the School of Dentistry, and the School of Biosciences. Students use it to peer-assess and actually look at the work; staff use it to mark at scale; it has also been used with movie posters as an icebreaker. Dentistry is using it live.

Mashed together

Keep picking which poster is better, zoom in like a museum, and keep a spreadsheet people actually trust.

Exploring Wrestling Stables

I pulled wrestling stables out of Wikipedia via DBpedia, mapped who had been teammates, and posted the giant graphs on Reddit. Wrestling fans spotted missing Ric Flair, argued about stables versus factions, and the messy Wikipedia data turned out to be the interesting bit.

Mashed together

Wrestling stables, Wikipedia, and a giant network map that Reddit fact-checked.
